Pippin hatched late last night and they're doing so well - probably one of the strongest! Turning the egg was definitely a good idea for my nerves' sake but I don't know how much of the success of the hatch was down to good luck or my meddling. At least it's got a happy ending!
All five of my chicks hatched with (almost) no problems and now I have a tub full of fluffs! There is no sign that humidity was ever a problem, they all fluffed up nicely and no shrink wrapping or drowning!

There are still 2/5 left to hatch. I have just seen the egg shell break a bit - does that mean the beak has pierced the membrane? I can’t see the hole - should I risk it and break a bit of shell off to have a look?? I am so nervous!!!!
