How do I use Acidified Copper Sulfate properly?

Thank you for the clarification. I called the manufacturer to confirm dosage for small flock (package directions for large quantities) after reading its 1/4 tsp to 1 gallon of water, they were unable to confirm 🤔 someone is supposed to call me back.

How do I use Acidified Copper Sulfate properly?

I read that the ACV is to cover the bitter taste of the ACS. I have also read that the ACV cuts through the mucous. I bought the acidified, but based on everything I’ve read, I should still add ACV. You disagree on adding it?

    Dosage of Acidified Copper Sulfate

I am starting ACS tomorrow for canker in a rooster. Do you know why there is an option of 3-5 days? I do g want to overdose, but I also want to get rid of the canker, hopefully. Do you recommend 3 or 5 days treatment in this case?

Acidified Copper Sulfate - To the Rescue

Thank you. That’s interesting, I read on another post that when you mix ACV with copper sulfate, it creates acidified copper sulfate (if you didn’t purchase it as ACS already)

Acidified Copper Sulfate - To the Rescue

I've been dealing with canker in my rooster, after trying several meds like you mentioned, it wither didn't completely go away or came back. I just ordered ACS, I'm seeing different directions on mixing, can I ask how you mixed and did you give to whole flock and for how long?

    Canker and treatment meds question

5 year old rooster, saw vet last Friday, removed chunk of presumed canker from throat, along with some blood, awaiting culture results. Vet prescribed clavamox, 375 mg 2x day (seems high, but I believe is correct after research) he is 6.42 pounds. Nystatin- put some in mouth 2x day...

    Calcium Citrate Question

I’m in the US, I’m just 90 minutes from Walmart. I looked at ingredients in the Equate brand, it’s the same in terms of magnesium stearate being listed, as the one I’m looking at on Amazon, so I’ll go ahead and order. Thank you!

    Calcium Citrate Question

I’m looking for calcium with d3 right now, but most brands have some form of magnesium in them, listed under “other ingredients”. Any recommendations on what is acceptable and what’s not? What brands? I’m looking on Amazon.

Soft shelled eggs AND crop not emptying HELP!

I managed to get her to take some crushed tums in eggs, but she was hesitant. The only thing she has really wanted to eat is a few black soldier fly larvae. I don’t know how much to try to get her to eat, considering her crop won’t go down. I’m massaging it often. Not sure what else to do. My...

Soft shelled eggs AND crop not emptying HELP!

I will go to store for tums at the very least, I do have Rolaids here but it says active ingredients: 1000 mg of calcium carbonate and 200 mg of magnesium hydroxide. Then, listed under other information: each tablet contains calcium 400 mg, magnesium 85 mg. Rather confusing. (other ingredients...

Soft shelled eggs AND crop not emptying HELP!

I doubt our local store will have calcium citrate, closest pharmacy is 40 minutes away, if I can get some, how do I administer?

Soft shelled eggs AND crop not emptying HELP!

I have a 2 year old Blue Copper Marans hen who laid a soft shelled or shell-less egg last week but seemed fine after. It happened 2 more times, one no evidence of shell, the other soft shell…it’s happening at night. Yesterday morning when I saw that it happened the third time, I felt her crop...

    Disinfecting new but used coop

I believe the previous took good care of her birds, the coop is mostly dusty, more than anything. I’ve had people tell me they would never move their birds to a used coop and that I’m taking a huge risk. Obviously, I don’t want my birds to become ill from any diseases that I’m not aware of...

    Disinfecting new but used coop

I do not have knowledge of health of previous flock. I’m just being cautious. There will be approximately 2 1/2 to 3 months time between last flock being there, and my flock moving in.
