Thank you! So they're safe to leave in the egg? Another person told me to assist because they were shrink wrapped. So I took the wide end off and added coconut oil to the membrane as much as I could. I'll post pics of what they look like now. The one that wasn't bleeding popped out in my hand...
Today is day 24 or 25 depending on if the day I put them in was 0 or 1.
They started cracking last night. 24 hours later (tonight) none have hatched. One was able to remove a lot of shell but the membrane was still there. So I peeled away the membrane and put it back. The 2nd one had chipped...
We just got our chicks 4 days ago from Mypetchicken. Our silkie has cross beak 😔 Today I'm noticing her wings are going outward. I can't decide if it's further than normal or not. I have them on game bird feed because I have guineas about to hatch and want to brood them together. I read the...
Thank you guys so much! I just raked out the entire coop and only saw 3. And my chickens ate each of them thank God 😅 I will be sure to keep the coop clean and dry. And i might break down and spray the exterior of our house. I hate poisons. I really appreciate all the advice.
Are these roaches? And if so- are they the kind that infest your house? I've never had roaches and I'm terrified they're going to travel to our house.
We live in the woods in Tennessee so I'm praying they're just some kind of roaches that likes the woods and not my house 😅 or not roaches at...
I'm having baby chicks delivered and I have guinea eggs in the incubator. I want to raise them with the chickens to pick up on their tendencies (going to bed at night, not wandering too far etc)
I'm even considering getting a couple baby turkeys if I can.
What would I feed them while they're...
Any updates on slinky? This is exactly the same thing that happened with my Tilly. She was fine then a week later she looks exactly like him. She can straighten her neck but only short periods. I know it's been a long time but I'm praying you see this
It looks like her crop is full and twisted to the side. She can stand upright and look normal but when she crouches back down it goes to the side. Otherwise acting normal. I noticed it as she was eating out of my hand. I thought she was normal moments before that but maybe not.
I'm feeding...
I just ordered our first set of ducks and now I'm hearing everyone talk about how much they hate them 😅 we ordered 6. Our hoop coop will be about 10x20 and mostly chickens. Will the 6 ducks make it too terrible? 😬
I've owned chickens for a few years now and I still don't know the answer to this.
Why do ppl have their chicken coops raised off the ground? What are the benefits?
Mine actually is a raised coop currently, but I'm thinking of doing a hoop house type where the ground will actually be the...
