    Here in the south, cicadas are so plentiful in the afternoons they are deafening. Occasionally I’ll find a live one in the yard. I’ll give it to any girl that will take it and then the chase is on! My chickens love them.

    So sorry to hear about that. I lost one of my old girls to a predator as well. Sad day.

    Mine too! The feed store lady said she only orders hens but sure enough he started crowing! Lol

    This is Roo. He’s a RIR and is 5 months old and does a great job guarding the girls.
