Right now I have Light Brahmas, Lavender Orpingtons, Salmon Favorelles, and 2 Auracanas. I had to start completely over this spring after predators and then stress induced health issues cleaned me out.- TMNfarm

Help!!! Mites? Lice?
My turkey hen came home about 6 weeks ago with 11 babies. At about 3-4 weeks old, 9 of them died within a 24 hour period. They were in an outside brooder with the hen. The last two have been doing great and seemed to be growing well. This afternoon, I thought I would give momma a break from... -

Yesterday, I decided it was time to transport my chicks home since they had started to jailbreak their temporary brooder at work. The only cardboard box I could find was HUGE, but I had a bucket that I had brought some shavings from home for the brooder, so I put some shavings in the bucket...- TMNfarm

To those of you that sell your chicks... What would you charge for barnyard mixes? I had a Facebook friend comment that she had lost several chicks from the batch she bought at the local fleet store. My hatch is done! 32 out of 36 eggs made it to lockdown. Out of those 32, 30 hatched alive amd well. 1 zipped and then got stuck and died before I could save it, and one died after lockdown... Never even internally pipped... Everyone else had hatched, so I candled the last egg this morning...- TMNfarm

Well, so far, I have 28 chicks in the brooder! I had to help 4 chicks hatch when I got here this morning. 1 of them had zipped and gotten stuck, glued into its shell with its head still tucked under... I have 18 out now!! 2 more are zipping, a few more are pipped. I can't see through one of my windows now, though, because of all the humidity!!! I had to reach through a vent hole with a probe and help one who had zipped but couldn't pop the top off for more than an hour...- TMNfarm

Holy Cow!! My incubator is at work, so I coudln't watch it all night. I came in this morning to 13 (!!!!) chicks out, 1 more zipped, and 5 more pipped!!!! Happy birthday, little ones!- TMNfarm
