    She ended up laying a small egg with a few blood droplets on it. It did have a hard shell but it was like magic after she laid. She seems back to normal. It’s been extremely hot where we are, 105 or so daily for two weeks almost.

    I definitely think you are right. We ended up treating all of them with Permethrin. So far all the lice seem to be gone but I am checking them everyday and will treat them again 7 days later. Our Betty girl is back to her stubborn little self and holding her own again. Thank you for your help.
