For both quail and chicken chicks. hatching time and the Q metal stacking brooders all have wire floors. Obviously there will be trays under the wire to catch poop, they won’t just be pooping on one another. They would only be in this for 2-4 weeks before moving to bigger spaces.
I've grown tired of my on the floor brooder boxes and I'm trying to build a 3 tiered brooder hutch. We have a similar hutch for some quail breeder sets. I've had a hard time finding any info online but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. I have seen the Hatching Time Brooders that stack but...
My quail lay every day. They take a few weeks off in the winter but over 300+ eggs a year. I also raise Coturnix which their eggs are bigger. 2-3 eggs = larger chicken egg. I can raise a crap ton of quail in the space I normally raise chickens. They also only take 8 weeks from hatch unlike...
They are being advertised as the homesteaders meat birds. Cornish cross cannot be bred because they die too quick. These are supposed to be ready at 10-12 weeks instead of 6-8 weeks like Cornish cross but are able to be grown to full age to reproduce. Cornish Cross aren’t sustainable and can...
Really your disappointed and shocked? Why exactly? Do you have any clue what it takes to vaccinate chicks? There’s a reason unless you do it urself that u can only get it done when ordering from hatcheries.
They only come in 1000 bird doses. They do not keep and have to be burned to be disposed...
I have the same question. 3.5 weeks ago I got them. They are huge. What’s wierd is the turkens our TSC have been getting also have ones that don’t have naked necks. They look like meat birds but labeled turkens. Are they trying to make turken meat birds??
My wife loves her GLW and we are looking from some breeding options for them. I have a bunch so we were going to split them into groups with different roos 😅 Thanks for any help!
