Look for the submissive squat then you will now they are really close. Also look for them wandering in and out of the nest boxes.

    Chickens behavior

My RiR is going from nest box like she trying to figure out which one she wants to lay in could that be a sign that she is about to lay within a couple of days. I watched her get in two or three different nest box, sit there for a few min then get out and get in another one ando the same thing

    Who Laid This Egg?

Brown leghorns only lay white eggs because they have white earlobes

    Squatting

    Squatting

A couple of my hens have started squatting about how long does it take them to lay after they start squatting?
  12. Todd7273

    Nest box

I have rubber matts in these nest boxes like what they use in chicken houses should I put straw or shavings in the nest boxs. Because they haven't laid yet and they have to be getting close they're combs and wattles are red, they're 18 weeks.

    Side effects

What are the side effects of feeding laying mesh to pullets at a early age of say 10 weeks? Because my friend started feeding his early and is still feeding them it and it ain't no where time for them to start laying.

When type of chicken starts laying?

Right now there only ten weeks. I know that is too young. I just wanted to see from experience when peoples brown leghorns have started laying.
