I found one of my young hens with a deep wound below the cloaca and an infestation of maggots. I removed the maggots mechanically, and washed the wound with water and hydrogen peroxide. I am most concerned with what looks like either a section of the large intestine that is exposed, but there is no eventration. I she is pretty tired and resting in a cage on dry cloth towels. Is there any way for me to help her heal, if she makes it through the night?
