Reality check - can you cancel your purchase...this coop will not work as you think. It is poorly built, will not withstand weather, predators or time and is TINY.
I have a rabbit hutch by the same company, reading the description you would think you are buying fort knox...it is garbage. I keep it...

Do you worry about the run not being covered? Also, what does your coop look like if you don't mind me asking? i am going crazy, back and forth between just throwing something simple together or spending time and $$ (surely I have some somewhere) on a decent coop. I am a...
The run is around 60-feet ...only three chickens. You can see how quickly they destroyed the grass, we have only had them for five weeks and it went from green to dirt.
I used similar coated wire for the girls run...this is where they spend all day every day. To make access easier we planted two 4x4 posts and a wood gate. The wire was just a little too flimsy for my boys to open and close. Even at 4-feet in height keeps the girls in no problem. Metal stakes at...
I don't really groove to all this kid hating and power tripping over children handling farm animals...my two kids 4 and 1.5 spend hours each day handling our chickens. They are awesome with them, and love them dearly, my 4 y.o is protective and keeps them on our property every evening when we...
Funny...I was actually wondering this also! We have started allowing our little dwarf rabbit to roam with our three girls during the day. He is like a little herding dog even though they are four times his size. We were watching their run and noticed all three hens lined up on their ramp...
The easiest solution to waterproof that transition would be a flexible "gracor" or tyvek flashing tape...a six inch wide selef sealing rubber tape that would leave the nest box operational...staple or nail it in place and once the temps hit about 70-degrees it will self seal to wood.
I use it...
Here is a schematic for rafters I used on my coop...should be a good starting point. A carpenters square will help set the "birds mouth" and it does not have to be perfect, it does need to be the same on both sides and all subsequent rafters....determine how much overhang you want...the more the...
Thanks everyone...thats what I thought, and we are just letting them get used to their new home. Hard to explain to a 3yr old and 2yr old why their new friends are hiding
coop??
three RIR hens, about 18-weeks old...eating awesome, drinking and looking happy. But they don't want to leave their coop. i don't blame them it is pretty darn nice (pats self on back)...They have only been with us for two days, and since last night they have stayed in their...
"Wonder if that's where the cadbury eggs come from." lmao!!! awesome
love the picture too...I started building a rabbit hutch today for the little guy. Hopefully they all get along, they will have enough space to avoid each other if needed.
Branford here...and brand new also.
With the "help" of our three year old I just finished our coop...and are picking up 3 rhode island reds tomorrow in wilton..I am learning aalot from this site and found an old lady at the north haven agway who talked up chickens for a good hour today.
Our coop is done and three RIRs (17-weeks old) show up tomorrow. They have a nice big 60-foot diameter outdoor run and I would like to see our rabitt share this space during the day. He is a mellow genlte bunny, but its springtime and I think he would like being outside.
They would not share...
Super helpful comments from everyone...and I am learning a ton by reading random threads. I am happy with what we built, it seems the coop has most of the features needed. Good ventilation (soffit vents running 46-inches along each side) and a roost area with poop board.
Question - I put left...
Thanks for all the replies...very helpful and informative. A true rarity in today's world of internet nonsense (and non-answers)...
I will border the fence with 2x8 - pressure treated boards to help anchor the bottom...and have continued the fence all the way around the enclosure.
I know I...
