    Mandarins are way cool looking as well. I would have loved to have gotten them also. I mainly got the black east indies to be a contrast to the white crested ducks. Figured they might look cute together swimming around in the pond. I know one thing for sure... too many ducks make a big mess fast.

    from what i understand here at our local auctions you sell the cages with the birds so poeple make cheap cages for the birds cuz the buyer gets cage and all for the money. good luck and hope it works out.

    I am using 60 watt light bulbs, just standard cheap wal mart bulbs in 2 different brooders. They are in those cheap aluminum round light things. Like 9 bux each. In one box i have 21 white crested ducks and the box is 4ft by 4 ft by 2ft high. The first week i had them in there i had the light...

    I happen to have access to a hardwood sawmill and was wondering if the hardwood sawdust would be ok. The pine shavings I have been having to buy and I could get the hardwood sawdust for free.

    I will put it in a widemouth quart mason jar tonight and also, where might I find brewers yeast. I live in a dry county and the surrounding counties are all dry as well. Is it something used for other things as well that a small town grocer might have? Is there something else that might work...

    I feed them Dumor Chick Starter/Grower 20%. Does not say medicated anywhere on the bag. They would have to tell you if it was medicated right?

    On Wednesday I received 21 white crested ducks. Ordered 20, and it seems 1 of them is having a hard time. Ever since I took them out of the box this one seems to have a hard time staying on his feet. I at first thought it might just be shock from travel and since he was taking in plenty of water...

    I'm not real sure yet, they are both pretty far away and right now we have 2 bottle feeding kids that are 10 days old, and 2 more that were born 4 days ago to a mother who only has one working tit. They all seem to be doing real well and the 2 we have with the mom seem to be doing great...
