I have 5 great hens (1 RR, 1 Barred Rock, 2 Easter Eggers and 1 Delaware?) that need a new home. I will be moving and I need to fix up my backyard that they free range in. They are great layers, have been fed Peck and Scratch grain and are 2 years old. You are also welcome to their feeders...

I'm seeing rat or mice turds in my coop. However, I don't keep water or food in the coop. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to stop them?

Here is my backyard flock of 5. I thought I would treat them with some cabbage and yogurt today.

I have never seen my hens sleep. When they were chicks, I'd see them fall asleep all the time. Now, I try sneaking up on them in the coop, at various times, and their eyes are always open. Has anyone else noticed this?
