    Connecticut!

Hi. I'm in Sandy Hook. I lost my entire flock last summer due to predators. I bought a strong Amish coop this year and so far have had no problems. As far as the eyelid swollen, I'm sorry, I do t know the answer. Tom

    Connecticut!

Hi...just checking in to see if anyone is interested in two Barnevelder roosters. They are very sweet. I hatched them myself, but can't have roosters where I am, and they're been crowing for a while now. :-( Please send me a message if you are interested or have any questions. They would be...

    Connecticut!

Hi everyone. I have two Barnevelder roosters that I hatched on my own (2 eggs hatched, both roos, my luck). They are beautiful and stay with each other all day, walk around together, etc. They are friendly to the ladies and the littler chicks, but of course crow and are getting their "urges."...

    Cream legbar chicks. Sex?

Thank you. I kept reading about the "dot" on the head being male, but the stripe looked like they were female. Three out of 7 eggs hatched. One died shortly after birth...that one looked like a male. These two survived and seem to be doing well.

    Cream legbar chicks. Sex?

Can someone tell the sex of these cream legbars? They hatched 3 days ago. They both have the chipmunk stripe...but also both have a tiny light spot on the head, so they're confusing me! I'm thinking female, but looking for any other input. Please let me know! Thanks. Tom

    Incubating email from MyPetChicken

Hi everyone. I've hatched eggs in an incubator before, but just got an email my MyPetChicken which had this instruction: ~To ensure the best possible hatch (barring an incubator malfunction): Allow the eggs to settle in your incubator by not turning them for *up to* 5 days, positioned fat...

    Connecticut!

Mine survived the winter, fine. I think that the only problem could be frostbite with their combs. I don't use heat lamps or anything...just heat their water. They all huddled together and did well, even with that crazy storm that went 3/4 of the way up their coop!

    Connecticut!

Ooh, that would be cool. Dark green eggs are one color I don't have yet. My Sicilian Buttercups just laid her first...beautiful cream color.

    Connecticut!

I don't have any that I'm selling, myself. I have a great breeder in New York. I work down that way, so if there's something you'd particularly like, I can find out and maybe deliver them for you?

    Connecticut!

Hi! I have some Easter Eggers, Black Copper Maran, Sicilian Buttercup, and an Olive Egger that I think might really be an Ameraucana...she just started laying light minty-blue. I also hatched two Barnevelder that are about 12 weeks old. I still am not 100% sure of the sex...I'm thinking roo...

    Connecticut!

Oh, cool. I live really close to there, but didn't order. Did they sex the chicks, or was it straight-run? Tom

Where did you get the Australorp? It's one type I haven't had yet, but would love.

    Connecticut!

I got them from mypetchicken.com. I know it was crazy to try a winter hatch, but they were available and I figured I'd give it a shot. Two out of seven hatched. They are so sweet! I'm really hoping that they're pullets.

I just hatched two adorable Barnevelders. They're like chubby little chipmunks! Tom
