This month I started to incubate 35 barred rock eggs, but when it came time for the eggs to hatch nothing happened. I did every thing as i always do, when i candled them the eggs were fertilized, and I kept the temperature arount 99. What could stop the eggs from hatching?
Every year I would see chickens being shown at local fall fairs and I though that raising one of those unique breeds of chicken would be a good pass time, so in the spring of 2011 I got 6 hens and since then its grown to 19 hens and 3 roosters.
I have a rooster and a hen but I can't put them in with my barred rocks because the hen will hide any where she can and the larger hens like to pick on the rooster, but on their own the do great so I plan on getting more.
I have three Barred Rocks and I plan on getting more but the only problam I have found is that they can be mean to a new bird. Another problam about them is they don't sit on eggs offen, but the odd one does, out of my three one sits on eggs.
