Interesting note on the fat. I learned from my nutrition class that the fats that harden at a higher temperature tend to be saturated fat thats bad for you. Whereas fats that remain liquid are better fats for you.
Think of the difference between a vegetable oil, it stays liquid in room...
I just recently modified this exact feeder to waste 0 feed for chicks. Not sure how well it works for older chickens, but for newly born chicks, and probably good for a month before their head gets too big.

Those BLRW eggs were shipped to me incorrectly, and was labeled BLRW, not sure if the original meant black or blue, i just assume blue. It is a happy surprise for me.
