I live in upstate NY and was just given 2 buttons. (Palenville, NY ) Can I keep them outside as well.
It gets pretty cold here in winter, but I put a heat lamp out for the other small quails. Little worried that they hog the lamp. Thanks for any help.
I don't know if this works on pheasants but it sure did work on a coule of my roosters. When he attacks BE READY and grab him. hold him upside down by his legs for 10 or 20 seconds them release. I 've not had to do this more than twice on a roo and usually once works fine. Good Luck
Could you possibly sent me pix of your harnesses? I just acquired a 2 month old WILD Emu. I could surely use one! Also how long does it take you to make?
Thanks so much,
Anne-Marie
Hi!
I was the one who originally made the post. Since then I have bought a proven pair (I absolutely love them!). I really do not want to try to hatch any, BUT, if you would be willing to sell and ship babies I would certainly be interested. Good Luck on your hatching.

In my experience, when they first start laying the eggs tend to be small. As the hen gets older and lays more they will get bigger, to their normal size.
Depending on how bad the break is... I agree to your idea , but I think it would be better to use vet wrap. It's easier and less traumatic to take off and change. I would also wrap first in gauze then the HARD cardboard and finally the vet wrap. Keep the poor baby inside and QUIET so it may...
I am very interested in you lady Amherst hen. Do you still have her. I plan to put her in with a pair or Gold ens. I am new at this so I don't know if there is a problem. From my research, there shouldn't be. I would come pick her up. I am from Saugerties, NY,
Thanks Tootsie
