I am in the US... Are those medications prescription? Would I be able to find them in a tractor supply or pet store? I have already been told no one will go to the vet for the chicken :(
I agree that it sounds like she has a respiratory infection.
They are separated from each other and their flock is being quarantined away from my ducks. The silkie does not have a wing injury, I think the "blood" came from her mouth. The mucus is very dark with a red/brown color, so against her white feathers it looked like she hurt herself. I can't...
For canker I am looking for a yellow fat like growth right? I did not see anything like that, but she does have the black mucus around the edges of her top beak. The roof of her mouth is yellowish, but it does not look like canker to me. There is no pigeons in our area. This pic shows what I...
The other hen I took has a sick bird posture, but she is active. She drinks by herself and scratches at the water dish, but is not eating. She enjoyed eating the egg from syringe, and she was very interested in dubia roaches (pet lizard food, isn't store bought) but she doesn't eat them. She...
The silke now keeps one eye half open, and the other closed. She won't drink by herself and I have been giving her electrolyte water through a syringe. She also ate 30 ml of raw egg, but she won't eat by herself. The discharge keeps gluing her beak shut and it smells like a rotting animal...
I understand this is probably a bacterial infection or virus. I am asking what specifically it may be, and things I can do to help her. It is 11 pm here so I can't really take pics rn.
I don't even know where to start. I was catching my neighbors chickens bc they are moving. I pick this silke up and there is sooo many problems. It never opens its eyes, it's beak was glued shut by discharge(?) comeing from its mouth, it was standing in an ant line, and it looked like it had...
I didnt think of crating them, thanks!
All the animals stay in a ~10 ish acre clear patch we call a yard. There isn't a fence or anything but they know it's safer than the woods. All the animals stay in their own area.
I have a chicken pen and coop that the broodys are in right now. The rest...
I am about to go crazy and this is more of a rant. I will go ahead and say I am a cat person and don't put much effort into learning dog's thought processes. This is not my dog, but he shares the yard with my dogs, cats, and birds.
THE QUESTION:
Can someone tell me what this dog is...
I'm getting my first moscovys today. All my fowl is free-range to some extent. My ducks never go in the coop and I assume this will be the same for moscovys. My potential problem is I'm getting a flock of adult moscovys who were not raised in the area.
When I get the moscovys I plan to cut...
I agree! A similar thing happened to my duck, Fish. He was lucky to get away but skin was missing on his neck and his back was cut up pretty bad and he made a full recovery! I kept him in the bathtub and used wound spray (I think it was called blue coat).
Your right, I haven't had barred rocks in a while and forgot hens also have pretty large combs. I didn't see the age and thought they were younger. I only really looked at the combs, my bad!
I haven't had barred rocks in awhile but, they look all male to me except the one in the back with the pale small comb. The one on the far right I'm almost 100% sure it's male.
