Thanks Birdrain92! Hopefully we'll start figuring out which are male/female. Two seem a bit bigger than the other, so perhaps two boys and one girl. Still seems so odd that all 5 chicks were whites out of this combo of the male IB and the female Spalding! Who knows what we will get next time!
Hi French Black Copper! The first picture in Post #1 on this thread is the mom (the Spalding, multi-colored one) and the white ones are the chicks - they were born in July and are now the same size as mom at 5 months! . They were all pure yellow when they hatched, and now all three are white...
That's amazing - We had 5 chicks, and all were yellow (which I assume would all end up white). This is Aphrodite, the mom - a little bit of white on her breast maybe? Thanks for your replies!
We had surprise peachicks - all 5 chicks were yellow, which then of course turned white. The mother is in the picture above, and the father below. This is our first set of Peafowl, and we are still learning! I don't know enough about Peafowl Genetics to understand why the babies are white...
