    Thanks for the reply. I saw her sit on them yesterday. She now has 13, but was able to maneuver all the eggs under her. She only sat on them for a while though.

    I have a question. My BTB hen has already laid 11 eggs in her nest box. At what point will she begin to brood? I have an incubator, but wanted to let her do it naturally. Any response would be greatly appreciated.

    How long after when a baby chicken chirps inside the egg ,will it hatch

    Do they always chirp before they hatch? One of my eggs is cracking, but I haven't heard any chirping.

    I know a couple are molting, but the others already molted over 2 months ago. All their feathers have filled in. Since I'm in South Florida, it never really gets cold here. This is the first time they've ever gone this long without laying. I always get a few eggs, never a full blown stoppage...

    My hens have always layed, even during the winter months. Even if it meant only one or two were laying. The new chicken just recently grew up and turned out to be a rooster. Now he's crowing all the time and mating with the girls. It seems that when all this started, they all stopped laying...

    This guy showed up on my property about a month ago and he was a small round black thing with some orange spots on his wings. So far, this is what he's blossomed into. He's very protective of the girls. So, what do y'all think he might be?

    Hi everyone. I found this egg in the nest box a couple of days ago. It's even darker than that first one. The patterns on the egg are different, which makes me wonder if it was laid by the same hen or could the Welsummer started laying...Is it possible for the same hen to lay eggs with different...
