    Arizona Chickens

Hi Friends... I haven't posted in forever, but I am looking to rehome some older (2.5 year old) hens. They are very friendly (Red, Barred Rock, Americauna) but don't lay often. I live on a 1/4 acre in an HOA, so I'm looking to keep my flock small and add more to it, so my older birds need to go...

Hi! Anyone here in the East Valley selling started pullets? I am looking to add 3 to my backyard flock. We have 4 2-year old hens that are slowing down and just got a new larger coop so I'd love to get a few more.

She was behaving normally other than this, so I decided to wait it out. They are both chatty and active. I'm giving them extra warmth and we will check in the morning.

    Help! 2 chicks dead overnight...

We are in AZ so it's about 80 during the day. Nights we use the lamp to keep it a bit warmer than our 60 degree evenings. I cleaned out the brooder. They had pine shavings, but I replaced with sand just now. They were eating chick feed not medicated as they were vaccinated. I typically didn't...

    Help! 2 chicks dead overnight...

Sorry I don't post often, but I need help! Woke up to two of my 4 week old pullets dead in the brooder. I don't know what happened at all. Water and food. No trauma visible. We moved the two that were still alive out to a dog kennel in our lawn, and offered new water and food. They are eating...

Is there anyone on this board that is planning on doing a chick order? We just want a few rarer chicks to raise, but I don't want to do a 15-25 min order.

Hey Guys! So I saw a coyote in the neighborhood this morning... And we live pretty inside of our subdivision. My coop is not coyote proof (I know I know). Any suggestions for a quick fix for tonight so I don't pace the way for a chicken buffet??

Pomegranate tree full of leaf footed bugs

Anyone know if chickens will eat these things? Every pomegranate on my tree is cracked open from those nasty bugs and I am at my wits end!

Yay! It took a bit, but the girls have settled in! Look what we found this morning! What are ya'lls favorite foods? Do I want a corn free scratch? I picked up a layer crumble, but I am sure someone has better suggestions.
