    the silkie slickers

I had two unique color chicks hatch out. The Roo and Hens came from a good breeder. Attached is one of the chicks that came from a white Roo and white Hen. I am not sure which hen layed the egg. I had Silkies for many years and never had this happen. Any idea on color?

Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It has been a while since I have been on BYC and thought I would get on here to look for a Black Jersey Giant Rooster in Michigan. I bought some chicks this spring thinking I would get mostly rooster, but was surprised that they all look like hens . I am new to the Jersey Giants.

    Michigan Chickenstock 2013 Buy/Sell/Trade

I should have buff silkie chicks and royal palm turkeys for CS. I also have two nice buff roosters, if any one is interested. I am looking for some really nice splash hen/hens for my two splash roosters. I have too many roosters and not enough hens.

    Turkeys For 2013

I was talking about the Porters website; when you increase the humidity to 80%, you need to turn your temp down.

With the high humidity you need to lower the temp. They say high humidity and high temp is deadly.

Beautiful Chickens, I love the pink dye on the showgirl. I love the Modern Game chickens. I got one last year as a chick, but I was afraid to get more because I was told the winters here were too hard on them. I wanted to try it out before I bought more. She has such a great personality! How...

Peacocks and a turkey in the same pen?

Quote: It's a little different adding adults, since the babies tend to more "imprint" on one another. Adults can be really mean when you add them together. I agree, I added babies and juvenile together, but not adults. They tend to get upset. I would have a mess in the pen if I put my adult...

Peacocks and a turkey in the same pen?

My turkeys and peacocks free range together and they do fight a little. The peacock teases the tom turkey and they go at it, but the peacock is faster than the tom so he always runs away and the tom can't catch him. It is hilarious to watch, like two clowns. Now the peahens and the hen turkeys...

Just hatched out a yellow peachick, both parents are India Blue

I looked up the Black Shoulder Peacock and Peahens and no that isn't what I have. They look just like the India Blues and that is what I was told they were when I bought them.. The only thing I can think of is maybe they were mixed, but I seen their flocks of peacocks before I bought them and...

Just hatched out a yellow peachick, both parents are India Blue

I have two India Blue Peacocks and this year was the first year that I tried to hatch out the eggs, I only had two and one hatched out yesterday and to my surprise it is yellow. I thought they were brown? I am new at this, but I have done some reading on peachicks and everything I've seen they...

It is nice to get rid of everything you don't need. I sold: 10 turkey juveniles, 11 small guinea keets, about 10 juvenile guineas, 5 Isa browns 2 barb rocks and two leghorns. I am probably going to regret selling the laying hens. I had fun and it was nice meeting new people.

Quote: I'm glad I seen you before you left. I was pretty late, but still ended selling everything, but my Bantam Cochins, which I could care less if I sold them. I only went down on my price on my baby guineas and I have a lot of them. I wish I would have gotten there earlier. It was nice...
