Hi and thanks for the reply!
The WH ducks were 12 weeks when we bought them. The Aylesburys are ducks (as far as I know) this is going on the raspy quack they make and the fact that they don't have a curly tail feather.
How old they are is unknown! We said we wanted some that were currently...
Hi,
I purchased 4 ducks in July. 2 welsh harlequins (approx 12 weeks old) and 2 Aylesburys which the farmer told us were currently laying. 12 weeks on and we have not seen 1 egg! We also keep chickens and they are in an enclosed area (electric fence) so there is no where for them to 'hide' the...
Yes, have them separated by a rose trellis!! They can see each other but can't get at each other.
Don't know what it is but as soon as I put them together it starts biting the others
:(
Morning all,
Have come down this morning to find that the placid ducklings are still being attacked. 2 of them have blood by their wings where the aggressive duckling has pulled feathers out (they have only just started to feather out). I have separated the duckling with the attitude but what...
Yes, our bulb is red glass. Would it be better to turn it off for a bit?! The house is warm and obviously I would keep an eye on the temperature.
Is there any way of stopping it attacking, apart from separation?
Thanks for reply, it is a infra red bulb that we use. It is constantly doing it and when they are all settled down and he/she finally stops, there are 3 huddled together and then the naughty one sat on its own!
They have just started growers but I have not tried giving any treats, what can I...
Hi all,
I have 4 Cayuga ducklings approx 30 days old. I let them out of the brooder (in our lounge!) to have a run around and noticed that one duckling is nibbling/biting at the others....constantly. If they sit down together it will nibble at all 3 until they get up and move out of bills...
Hi,
How did you get on with the treatment of scald? I have discovered one of my bantams with it and need to sort it asap. I am wondering what the best and most effective method is ?
Thanks
Many thanks for the reply. As far as I am aware the rest of the flock is healthy. However, according to my internet research, all of my flock will be carrying Mareks now but not affected by it. There is no cure and the only way to confirm a bird has it is by autopsy.
This is why I don't think...
Hi all,
I am looking for some advice/help. It is a little complicated so I apologise in advance for the long post. I have a flock of chickens which consists of 4 Warrens, 3 Araucanas, 1 Pekin Bantam, 1 Brahma and a French Copper Maran. All (apart from warrens) were under 10 weeks when we had...
