I have an 8 month old golden buff with a dirty butt...she is also not laying. Any suggestions? She seems to be separating herself from the other hens when I let them out to roam.
I got my 3 golden buffs and 2 blue orpingtons in the fall as chicks...I have a window in my coop and have been letting them out during the day in their run...how can I tell when eggs might be coming so I don't miss them? These are my first.
I have 5 week old chicks, golden buffs and blue orps. The only good they have had is starter crumble and very little grit. Can I introduce sunflower seeds?
That was my initial plan...I was going to buy 2 large Rubbermaid totes so I could just rotate them to fresh bedding each time...please let me know how this works out for you..can u send photos? Thank you for your response!
Thank you for all of your advice. I had planned on using shavings initially but I like the shelf paper/paper towel idea better for the first week. Guess I need to get on the ball! Thank you again!
I will be the owner of 5 chicks next week, this is very new to me. I plan on keeping them in my garage until fully feathered. Can someone tell me the best way to contain them (cardboard box/purchased brooder kit) and what else I will need besides brooder lamp and bedding?!? Thank you!!!
