    Thanks for your feedback. I was concerned about wood not holding up to the elements outside. But based on your feedback, I think I’ve settled on a couple different size landscaping bricks to make some steps up.

    Here is what I came up with. I sent this to Midwest Manufacturing, who does the custom design work for Menard’s pole barns. I plan on securing half-inch hardware cloth outside the window openings to protect from predators.

    Coop under construction ~ Anything I should be thinking about?

    I’m designing a coop somewhat similar, attached to a pole barn that I am going to have built, so I’ve been reading through your thread on designing your coop. So how high off the floor of the coop will the pop door be? Do you need to have “steps” or a ramp for them to climb up to the opening?
