You're welcome. it should be snug. Just check the straps often to make sure they aren't rubbing or cutting into her over time. If it's too loose you risk her getting her legs caught in it and injuring herself.

If she hasn't had it long like only a week or so it sounds like she has sour crop which can be treated and perhaps not happen again. This article is helpful http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/04/answers-from-chicken-vet-on-impacted.html When my chicken would have it I would tilt my bird...

    Arizona Chickens

Hey all. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. Everything has been crazy busy over here with my costumes and conventions and the hoidays. The chickens are doing good this winter. We did lose our little silkie roo a few months back. 7 of the 8 hens in the new flock have laid now. The Sultan is at...

She's 7 months but hasn't laid yet. Her vent seemed normal yesterday and her feet were clear of bumblefoot from what I can tell but all those **** feathers on her feet make it really hard to see if she's got any blisters on the top, the bottoms looked clean though. She always stays on the very...

I'm sorry for your losses. I'm going to separate her tomorrow so I can check her poop more easily and make sure she doesn't have worms or any of that. I saw no signs of mites or fleas so unless he has runny poop or worms I really have nothing else to go off of. I'll give her some poly vi sol...

My Sultan has been acting strangely the past 2 nights. She's always been very timid and just kinda hangs out by herself. She sleeps on the very bottom roost bar by herself. Last night she wouldn't go in the coop. She just kinda stood there and I brought her in the house, looked her over and...

    Silkie thread!

you can order them online, I know mypetchicken.com sells them in their accessories section. I made mine. I'll take a picture of it next time I have it off of him. You need to keep them pretty tight which scared me at first but he does fine with it, I check it often to make sure it's not too...

    Silkie thread!

I made it myself out of 2 sided velcro (the kind you can hook to itself in a loop) and old denim. I just estimated the width and doubled up the denim in that width then sewed on the velcro so it was adjustable. It works fantastic once I got it tight enough and made sure he could eat and it...

    The Olive-Egger thread!

My EE started around 21 weeks, my OE started at 25 weeks. I hope you get the colors you want!

    The Olive-Egger thread!

Yeah, I also have an Ameraucana for blue eggs she's not laying yet though. My last EE looked identical to my current one but laid creamy white eggs.

    Silkie thread!

Here's my little roo named Ducky. He's so sweet to the girls, he spends more time giving them gifts of twigs and leaves than he does trying to mount them. He wears a no crow collar and tolerates it very well and he's almost completely silent with it on except for his little cluck clucks when he...

    The Olive-Egger thread!

In my MyPetChicken order I chose an Easter Egger as well as an Olive Egger. Both ended up green layers. Here's their eggs along with some of my others. The darker green is the one that was sold as an Olive egger, a marans ameraucana cross.

And another new layer this week! Looks like 25 weeks was the magic number for some of my girls to stop being free loaders. This time it was my Olive Egger. I've also caught my little silkie roo successfully mounting some of my ladies so once I start seeing some bullseyes when I'm making...

25 weeks and the 3rd of 8 pullets started laying today. Pretty sure it was my Silver Laced Cochin. No one was agitated this morning so I didn't expect any new ones but found the light brown one in the run. The other 2 are from my EE and my hatchery Black Copper Marans.
