    You will never see them again. If you free range them.

    Trimming feathers will only make them run as far as they would of flown. Plus it will be easy for predators to get them. There is absolutly no way to free range a pheasant. Get a fully covered pen. Or don't get pheasants.

    They are not as common as yoy would think. I have contacted everyone. And can't even find a hen I have looked every where for three months.

    It's a 10 x 12 pen. Never had a problem. And their is Christmas trees in there with a roost.

    Ok so I have a pair of blue eared. That I have had for five years. Yesterday I went out to feed and he had beaten the hen. Scalp her. So I seperated them. She should make it. Just a little beat up. But my question is. Can I put them together again when she heals? Or will he just keep beating her...

    They will start with next summer molt about June.They will be fully colored by September of next year. A little color will slowly appear until then.

    I have all my pheasants in pairs. And each pair in its own 12x12 pen. I put the doves and Chukar in with the pheasants. And I keep the quail on wire. So nope I don't mix them. They cost to much to replace if they kill each other. So I just play it safe.

    Well, I just got my new pair of temminck. And I love them. They are a pretty neat bird. Just need to tame them down a bit now. That runs my total to a even dozen different breeds now.

    Silver are very easy birds to keep. They tame down nicely. Some will eat out of your hands. I keep mine in a 10 x 10 pen and they do great. I feed them all sorts of fruits, greens, scratch, pellets. They do good in the cold. They are sometimes aggressive to theirs hens during breeding season...
