    Rooster passed worried about flock

One of my bantam roosters, Marty, has been sick for the last two weeks. It started with him walking like he was drunk, then his comb became pale, and then he spent most of the day lying down. I took him to the vet and they did a gram stain and saw an abnormal level of bacteria, so I was sent...

Rooster without comb / oxygen levels

So are we looking for a paler face or more purple/blue? And thank you so much!

Rooster without comb / oxygen levels

We recently rescued a rooster who was used for fighting. His comb and wattle were completely clipped off. He has now come down with a respiratory infection and we were wondering since he doesn’t have a comb, is there another way to determine his oxygen levels visually. He also has blunt force...

    Disabled Chickens Forum

Absolutely on board with this. Although my boy Walter passed, I rescue lots of injured and disabled birds. A forum specifically for this would be wonderful. Thank you for suggesting it.

    Disabled rooster, soft stool

Yes and I’m holding on the treats for now. I imagine I’ve been giving him too many meal worms. Going to try and right size the amount he gets since he doesn’t get exercise like the rest of my roos. Thank you for the advice 😊

    Disabled rooster, soft stool

It’s an all flock feed. I have a mixed flock so I use this. It’s comparable to flock raiser. So yes, it is a balanced poultry feed. I’ve bought him some grit and I’m holding off on the treats for now. Thank you 😊

    Disabled rooster, soft stool

My disabled rooster (due to injury not Marek’s), Walter has had soft stool for about a week and half. He eats triple duty, dried meal worms, dried soldier fly larvae, the occasional banana, watermelon, peas, and scratch grains. I also recently gave him some treats I found at Walmart, pictured...

    Listless Bantam

    Is this trimmed enough?

    Listless Bantam

Thank you so much. He’s always had a beak that grows fast. I’ve started trimming it myself recently because it got too costly to take him to the vet so much. Good to know I can trim further. None of my feed stores had rooster booster but one of them gave me VitMinPro (pictures below). Will this...

    Listless Bantam

I found Winston, my bantam rooster, laying on his side this morning. I took him out and he was wobbly and a little weak. I sat with him while he ate a little and he pooped once, which was mostly clear but no blood or anything like that. Showing no signs of any respiratory issues. I recently...

    Bloody stool

That is quite a lot to take in. Will I get any of this medicine I time to treat him? I live in Hawaii. Should I just bring him to an avian vet? I don’t know if I can afford it if it’s this serious but I’m not sure ordering that medicine will get it to me in time. Thanks for all of the info.

    Bloody stool

He’s not eating, drank a small amount and this is his stool tonight, see picture. Sorry to keep adding to this. I picked him up to give him his oral dose and his crop feels like it has fluid in it. Is this part of cocci?

    Bloody stool

Sorry to bother. Just started his corid treatment. I am suspecting I will need to do the drench because he isn’t drinking much and I noticed the water he did drink came back out of his mouth when I picked him up. I sanitized his enclosure and had a question about that. I was told I would need to...
