I'm unable to identify the gender. It has been 8 months since I bought them as ducklings. So now they are more than 8 months. Still didn't lay eggs or no differentiating features developed as mentioned in Internet
It is so confusing

Now I'm able to upload pictures. I'm unable to identify the gender. It has been 8 months since I bought them as ducklings
First pic is 8 months ago. And other pics are now
Thank you so much🤗
I'm trying to attach files of the pictures. But it's not working
I'll try my best to upload pictures here. I couldn't change my profile too. I'm logging in after 3 years🥺
No they aren't interested on grasses too as much they are interested in hair. They are picking up hair from the grasses itself by searching everywhere.. I haven't heard of any chicks doing like this!
Ignoring grasses and treats just for the sake of hair🥺
Still no progress😔.. I have tried all the ways suggested. Even cleaned the house thrice in a day. But these chicks are scavenging for hair.. though plenty of food, water and treats are available all the time.. they just go in search for these hair. Only 6 chicks became obsessed in hair eating...
We're actually raising the chickens and chicks at our home. They do keep on walking around us inside the house and also come to garden only with us. They have added us in their flock and keeps following everywhere throughout house and garden.. even to bedroom at night
My only doubt is.. why only these chicks are eating. Other 3 chicks doesn't even pick them.. I have never noticed any hair on them. But the ones born in incubator and raised by brooder are only eating hair!!! It's mysterious for me😅
They go in and out everywhere. Idk how.. though we keep clean.. they search for those unnoticeable hair that have escaped or got stuck in somewhere. There are not much hair strands as expected... but they pick it up from somewhere
No🤣.. there are 7 females here.. so it's common for few hair strings to fall per day even I we clean regularly. The problem is only the 6 chicks are picking the hair strands but not the other 3 chicks.. they just don't mind it.
I guess it is the hen teaches lesson that not to eat human hair to...
I had incubated my own hen's eggs 3 months ago and hatched 6 out of 8 of them. Now these chicks are 8 weeks old.. I leave them to roam everywhere since 6 weeks of age. Since temperature here will be always above 32 to 35 C.
From the first day I left them out to till now... everyday whenever...
