I've moved food and water into where their boxes are, so she has easy access to both, but I think she prefers to come out and drink from the dogs water bowls instead!! lol
I've got a quick question regarding babies and mummy chickens..
Bit worried cos we've got a 35 degree day today and a girl on eggs.. She's been on them for a week yesterday, should I be worried about the heat?
Their pen can get warm, we do have a small sprinkler setup to help keep it a little...
We've got 9 light sussex eggs under our light sussex at the moment.
We did buy a dozen, but I have given 3 to a workmate who has put them under her langshan bantam :D
We didn't expect our LS to go clucky so soon... If at all... But I guess hormones got the better of her!

And they've even started fighting at 4-5 weeks! They will be going back to the chicken lady tomorrow unfortunately!

I must admit, I think I am pretty lucky to have 6 absolutely loving cats.. Haha. They may not always all get along with each other, but they all love us humans <3

We got two 'day old' welsummer x frizzles at day old about 4 weeks ago.
Now I didn't look up sexing them until after we purchased them, but going on what i had seen for sexing at day old for welsummers - I would've thought I had at least one female.
Now after 4 weeks, we have two with...
Bit sad, but 4/7 of these babies were roos!

Our Barred Rock is definitely a girl, going by her colouring, and the cochin and and new hampshire/frizzle are looking like girlies too.
