That entire thing was scab that had callused and was necrotic. I had to soften it with water every day to eventually pry it off. So, basically the destroyed tissue died and fell off and new healthy tissue replaced it.....it is hard to explain.

He walks just fine! A SMALL hobble.. but overall better than expected!

Hobart is doing great! He is in his forever home and has a loving family and a goose partner to spend his life with! As you can see the foot that was once so horrible has healed nicely!!! This is so amazing.

Nope, not sure if he is a boy or a girl.....but definitely a Hobart. I have been told he is most likely an Embden...but I have no idea. I am going to try making one of these water bags for his area for him to cool off on if it gets to be too hot. It is made of plastic sheeting sealed...
