Mine eat them when they grow through the fence. All of them have nibbled away at the leaves! I tossed some from the garden when I harvested yesterday, and by the time I went to pick them up, the girls had eaten all the leaves. They also like Cilantro! Is that bad for them as well?
I may be a negletful parent but I don't even do the corn scratch. I can't get it here. I am so lucky my girls are doing so well. But we are having a really weird warm spell. Much to the opposite of your cold one. Yet, greatfully unlike So Cal. at 90 deg. I'm sure I'll have my moment on this...
Why is driving to work in a truck weird? I've only found frozen eggs when it is 10 and below. I'm surprised because it's still freezing outside and I haven't been warming my coop. Most of mine explode when they freeze. Had one that must have froze as it was coming out. It was elongated, thin...
My chickens have come into the house on their own if I don't close the door all the way. I'm so afraid they will poop in the house. How do you deal with that?
It has been -54 here wind chill and I just turned on the heat lamp and greased my roo. Little bit of frost bite before I discovered...
Oh my, so many choices. I'm doing the "run with the new water" every day. It's -30 and yes your hands get cold and frosty. The girls like to go outside it if around 0 or upwards. They do nibble snow, but i'm sure they don't get much. Last two days I was physicaly unable to carry the frozen...
Produce from market will never go to waste around here
My girls like to share, and the deer appreciate any left overs. Amazing to see them eating together
What kind of water heater do you use and where do I get one? We are in South western Montana. do they come with timers? We get frozen water during the day. This leaves us with the inability to even leave the ranch for the weekend. Please help.

I'm sooooo glad my girls are smarter than me. I never would have thought of any of those things. I picked mine up and stuck her in the box. She was so scared that she just stayed there. Then, they were all in the boxes. I did have to shut them inside when they first started laying so they quit...
Do you have heat on in side? My girls stay out until dusk. Then I go out to shut the door and they all run outside before I get the door shut. Sometimes they are sitting just outside the door, or are outside in the run. I free range them all day. When they are ready, they go inside and cuddle...
