    Sick Chicken

    I have chicken that have been dying with no symptoms. After picking up a chicken, she was light as a feather and there was no meat on her breast and you could feel the bones. Help, I don't know what to do.

    I name my chicken after chicken dishes: Chicken Nugget, Chicken Noodle, Chicken & Dumplins, etc. funny thing is...I don't eat them. I get the cornish cross for that...I don't name them cause they are not pets. Greta, Gertrude, Henrietta are some other names.

    At what age do Black Australorps begin to lay their first eggs???

    Thank you for the info...I was just curious. I give mine the starter the same as you until that first bag is gone, then I start them on the laying pellets. I have always had good luck with my chickens and they lay year around, although not quit as good in the winter. Thanks again, Victoria
