Thank you for answering candidly. She's currently able to walk very slowly, but I can't imagine her living a happy life with my flock considering how the older ones i treat smaller new members/sick chickens. It's a tough decision. I guess I'll watch her for a while and see how well she is...
WOW! how could I be so lucky to have them all be hens? lol. I'll keep updating as they get older. Here is the rooster/dad. It's a long story, but he's a generation younger than the mothers, and I also believe his mother might be a white leghorn.
These are barnyard mix chickens. I hatched them around August 11th. Second generation of barred rock, RIR, easter eggers, buff orphingtons, and an unkown black chicken mix. If you'd like any other angles please let me know.

I was at Tractor Supply and since the last few batches of DuMore pellets I usually feed them has been powdery lately, I noticed a 40lb bag of Producers Pride pellets for 16.50. I also got a 50lb bag of DuMore for 18.99, so very similar in price.
My chickens flat out won’t eat the Priducers...
hmmm, What are your thoughts on doing 5 consecutive days, and then 5 days later giving another dose? In theory I'd be killing other worms with the 5 day treatment, and would also kill any roundworm eggs that hatched by dosing again, 10 days after the initial dose?
The issue is they're asleep in their coop right now so it would be a good 10 hours in between the .5ml and the additional 1.0ml. Do you think that matters?
I'm also reading some conflicting info. Some say dose once, and again in 10 days, the others say to dose for 3-5 consecutive days.
I'm not...
Hello, I was reading some info and I misread the dosage. I have 6 hens that all weigh around 5lbs and I gave them each .5ml orally using a baby syringe. I'm now realizing I should've given them something more like 1.5ml per hen. Would it be okay to just dose them the full 1.5ml dose tomorrow...
Well at least I know it's not just me! lol...she's still at it. Every few nights she ends up in the coup for some reason. We are thinking about making her a hanging perch so that she can sleep out there out of the reach of some(obviously not all) predators.
I can. They normally free range, but...
Sorry, I forgot to mention in my OP that she is one of the more dominant hens. Used to be clear cut dominant, but I think now it's between her and one of my other hens.
In other words, I don't think so. I've never seen her being picked on at all.
I have 6 hens that are about 3 years old and have never had issues with them going into their coop at sundown. Within the past few weeks, one of my hens started sleeping on a chair on our back porch instead. She's the only one having this issue and she does not seem sick, or like anything is out...
Whoa that is so cool! I like how they have regular feathers, but with crests, and even the black skin! 😍
Thank you so much for sharing, I think we may go through with it. He has a really cute white silkie rooster. He already seems to get along with our hens through our shared fence.
This...
I have had barnyard mix egg laying hens for several years now. Our neighbor has a silkie rooster he wants to get rid of. We have been thinking about getting a rooster to breed with the hens anyways. Any idea what the offspring might be like? What I want to avoid is offspring that rarely lay...
I found these two little rocks in her windpipe. Hard to believe such a tiny thing could have done it, but I suppose it it had turned sideways it could.
There was a bunch of "stuff" near the base of her esophagus as well. Not sure if that contributed somehow, but it does seem like she had gorged...
