    Wry Neck?

    She doesn’t walk. Haven’t seen her eat or drink but now she’s standing. We brought her in the house and have her in a shower area. No running nose, leaky butt or anything of the sort. It kind of seems like maybe she was hurt but I have no idea how.

    Is this wry neck? This hen is almost 2 years old and had been broody for the last three weeks. Yesterday morning found her out of the nesting box just sitting in the wires of the bottom of the chicken tractor, left eye closed and head turned all the way around to the right, resting it on her wing.

    Posting an update… bird is about 6 months old. Thinking this is a hen but folks had thought cockerel before. No long feathers around the neck, haven’t noticed any crowing.

    This is our mystery chick from Murray McMurray. My guess was Bielefelder pullet but I’m not great on sexing birds. Age is about 13 weeks.

    Name that bird!

    Any help in identifying this? Was a mystery chick. My guess is Easter Egger cockerel. Came in a batch of Spangled Hamburg, Silver Wyandotte and Rose Comb Brown Legger and a bunch of meat birds.

    I did have heavy suspicion with the longer saddle feathers but I’m pretty new to chickens. Thanks for all the input!

    Well, I guess that makes sense. We did order a couple Easter Eggers but I was unsure since this one hasn’t been crowing yet and tail feathers aren’t long. Looks like we have a few more to send to the freezer. 😂

    I’m super confused because I’m pretty sure these breeds aren’t what we ordered at the hatchery. Not sure at all what breed the first photo is… wondering if it is a rooster. The chickens are just over 4 months old. Second photo I think is a Black Copper Maran rooster. Appreciate the help!
