Thank you! I thought that might be the case. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks then. Do you know of any good resources for learning more about the genetics of specific breeds?
Hi everyone! I hatched out some chicks on the 3rd and 4th of July and am trying to see if they can be feather-sexed or sexed through any other visual clues. Each of these chicks has the same dad, a silver phoenix rooster, but different moms: a white crested black polish hen, a splash blue...
Woah, thank you so much! I’m going to make a post with pictures of the chicks from when they were a week old last Friday, but I honestly don’t think I need to because you answered all of my questions! From everything you’ve said, it really sounds like at least the chick whose mom is a CCL is a...

Thank you for your response! This makes sense. I’ll keep looking into it, but waiting it out with good biosecurity does sound like the best bet right now.
Yeah, I really should’ve thought about this before now. Do you have any thoughts/advice about taking chicks out of the incubator briefly (for cleaning or in this case vaccinating) before they have fully fluffed out? Just thought that might somewhat reduce the wait

Hey, sorry if this post isn’t in the right place but I’m new here and need some fast advice. Last night was day 19 of my hatch, and one of my eggs pipped externally, but this morning, small amounts of yellow ooze began crusting around the pip hole. The chick has made a few more cracks around...
