Interesting. If they are broody they do stop at some point but they just stay broody if you give them eggs? What if they decide to stop? Does that happen? Just thinking if I plan to get eggs what if they are done being broody when the eggs get here?
Thanks! I love them! I grew up in the suburbs with your typical pets. I have never had any pets that were barnyard type before. Last year my kids told me one of the neighbors had them. That set ball rolling!
I never knew how entertaining, endearing and addicting chickens were!
What a pretty coop! Love all the natural wood. I have 4 girls and there is two boxes and they all only use one! Sometimes 3 of them at once will be in the box.
Subbing to this thread! I am obsessed with getting a few Serama's ever since I discovered they existed! I found a local lady that breeds them but will only sell pullets. I want babies! Seems the only way to do this is get my own eggs.
We have an incubator that is a hand me down and...

I a pretty new to chickens myself. I brought home my first chicks last May. They are probably trying to stay warm together.
I have 2 nest boxes and 4 hens and they all use the same box! Pretty funny because to are broody right now and when one of the others wants to lay she squishes in...
I am in Southern California but I have a lot of family in the North. To me northern Cali is above San Fran.
I have family all over ....Hydesville, Eureka, Arcata, McKinleyville then on over to Redding.
I am really a Northern Cali girl at heart :)
