"As chickens' feet are not the same as other birds, I would not use limbs but use the 4" side up on a 2 x 4. As they like to sit on their feet with them flat."
I disagree, Chickens will naturally roost in trees. Well that's actually my whole argument.
In cold weather, it is good to have...
I used a 1" x 12" with small branches screwed to it every 4-6"s with scrap hardware cloth directly on the board under the branches, my ramp is over 4' long though.
My 2 new Americaunas just started laying last week and they are real small as well but my older one layers much larger eggs. I think the eggs will get bigger as they get older.
Our barred rocks lay large eggs.
We did Barred Rocks which were great but I would probably go with Buff Orps next if I need a duel purpose. I have one as an egg layer and I like her a lot.

I feel the same way about this list, I do think that the door should open in not out, so that it will close automatically and not let your chickens out even if you forgot to latch the door.

I couldn't have said it better. Once they kill, it's only a matter of time before they kill again. I don't have dogs - don't like them so if a neighbor's dog ever get's into my birds, bye bye!
Not true, some puppies will do it and be great once they get older, don't listen to the old...
