I do! I’ve had fairy eggs before but this wasn’t exactly that small of an egg. It could be some strange reproductive anomaly but the egg that I found today wasn’t as developed but it seemed to be growing in a similar shape. It could be something weird in this chickens reproductive track I’ve...
I didn’t see a yolk and when I did find it it looked like it had been cracked for some time. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if my chickens tried to eat part of it because they’re little dinosaurs. Looking at the photos I took the little embryo or whatever it is almost looked like it wasn’t...
I’m not to sure. I haven’t noticed any eggs fallen from trees. My neighbor has had birds go into her coop and steal eggs so it’s almost like a bird stole from somewhere else and put them in my coop haha!
I’ve thought the same! But when I look up quail embryo I continue to see this picture comparing a quails embryo to a chickens embryo. Not to sure how reliable the source is but It’s convinced me whatever this is isn’t from my hens
That’s alright haha I’m not to sure what to say either. At this point I’m starting to assume something is bringing these eggs in because of how developed they are. Thank you for your help!
Well I don’t have really any detailed photos of the eggs but I do have one of the embryo. I live in Washington and I’ve only ever seen California quail but they’re eggs look to be spotted so maybe it’s from a different bird that I’ve never seen. Or maybe it is a chicken egg and it just looks...
Oh sorry about that I didn’t really specify! I only have chickens and they’re all hens. I’ve been getting wild quail eggs in my chickens nesting boxes. I’m not sure what kind of quail they are but the eggs are a pale pink and it’s for sure a quail egg because of the size and development of embryo.
This past week I have found two eggs in my coup both crushed. Inside each egg has been an embryo. At first I was baffled because I don’t have a rooster so I didn’t know if our neighbors rooster had paid a visit. After looking at photos I found out that they’re quail embryo! I currently have a...
Okay this is pretty long and I’m not sure if anyone else has ever experienced this before so bear with me
About a week and a half ago I took my rainbow Dixie to the vet because her foot was absolutely huge. She wasn’t limping but we decided it would be best that we get it treated before it got...
Sorry to respond so late but we usually get about 11 hours from sunrise to sunset. As far as I know they don’t have mites but I’m not sure about then laying eggs everyday.
Unfortunately I can’t get any pictures but my two anconas combs and wattles have been shrinking and changing color. Combs that were bright red and would stand right up are now shriveled or hanging and are a pinkish color. Recently fall has been coming around and I figured it was just because of...
Breed: Ancona
About 15 weeks old
Why I think it’s a roo: larger comb and wattles compared to my other Ancona
Larger body compared to my other Ancona
Shows slight dominance signs
Why it could be a hen: hasn’t tried to crow in the morning
