It hasn't happened before but whenever I go out to feed my muscovies, one of them beginnings honking. Is it normal? She's 1 year old now and I haven't heard such a noise before.
Totally agree with you. He seems much happier around them especially when he's the only male there. He seemed so lonely all by himself, staring inside to the run today. I'll keep him on the otherside and split the run so he can still see the females. I'm going to try getting them off their eggs.
I agree also but I hate how he looks so lonely. Should I keep him in the run in the cage in the morning? or free-range him. He'll be alone tho because the females stay in the run.
My female muscovies are broody again and they're really violent. They keep chasing around my mallards so I had to release them out of the run however night is falling now and they have no shelter. My mallards are too scared to go back in the run and I'm not sure what to do besides locking them...
Can I make them stop broody? Today, my male and female fought and I had to break them up. Now I had to isolate the male from females in a cage for tonight.. Espeically when they live in the run, there's so little space for the male. I'm thinking of splitting the run in half.
No, that was helpful! I'm a first time duck owner so I was worried that it couldn't manage it's weight while living in a duck run. I always watch them gobble up food, stuffing themselves so I was worried they'd become obese.
