    Foot injury?

Lil update on Hatchett for anyone still watching, her toe is much better. She still has a limp, and might for the rest of her life, but she gets around just fine, and is happy and healthy in every other way.Thank you to everyone who offered advice!

    Foot injury?

No, there's no discoloration yet. I'll keep an eye out for that. She's been separated into our smaller box run until tomorrow so I can see if it improves at all or get noticeable worse.

    Foot injury?

I don't think there's a way to post videos, but I'll see if I can link one later. I have a hen who's started limping, doesn't want to put much weight on one leg. It just started today while I was at work, so I'm not sure when or what happened. There's no obvious wounds on her foot or leg...

Looking at it again, it does pull up from where it connects to the bottom/skirt, but they still tore their way through it. We will probably get some 2x4 heavier gauge to wrap around the body.

They ripped a hole in middle of the wire. I will post a picture once I get back. Thank you for the advice.

    Reinforcement ideas

Hello all, I'm in need of some advice. 2 days ago, some neighborhood dogs ripped a hole through our hardwire cloth and killed half our flock. It's been devastating, we have 4 younger hens we were just about to integrate. We obviously need to patch the hole, but now we don't feel secure with just...

    Experiencing Mareks

Thank you, it does help. Our last 2 unvaxxed were so happy and healthy, we had 4 left of our older flock with 4 younger ones almost ready to integrate. Unfortunately, 2 days ago 2 dogs broke a hole through our hardwire and took out all 4 of our adult flock. It's been devastating, but not as...

    Experiencing Mareks

I completely understand the feeling. Its honesty been very relieving in a way to know what the root cause is, I don't have to stress about whatever the next nebulous illness is that will take one of my girls. Currently we only have 2 unvaccinated left, and they are perfectly healthy atm, so...

    Cocci?

Thank you, I will keep an eye out. I did add some corrid just to be safe.

    Cocci?

Okay, thank you. I've never seen our older ones do it, but we have had cocci before.

    Cocci?

Does that point to coccidiosis, or something else?

    Cocci?

We have some 2.5 mo pullets, and I've noticed some poop has some sticky red texture to it, and I'm wondering if it's coccidiosis. I've not seen any other symptoms, and they're all vaccinated against cocci/on unmedicated feed, but I know vaccines aren't fullproof. We have corrid that I am adding...

    Experiencing Mareks

Thank you for this. I know they can survive, but it is a lot to deal with. Currently, no one else is sick, or at least no one is showing any symptoms. But if one of them does start showing and degrading, I will definitely want to do this. We have 2 hens just under a year that are vaccinated, as...
