Lil update on Hatchett for anyone still watching, her toe is much better. She still has a limp, and might for the rest of her life, but she gets around just fine, and is happy and healthy in every other way.Thank you to everyone who offered advice!
No, there's no discoloration yet. I'll keep an eye out for that. She's been separated into our smaller box run until tomorrow so I can see if it improves at all or get noticeable worse.
I don't think there's a way to post videos, but I'll see if I can link one later. I have a hen who's started limping, doesn't want to put much weight on one leg. It just started today while I was at work, so I'm not sure when or what happened. There's no obvious wounds on her foot or leg...
Looking at it again, it does pull up from where it connects to the bottom/skirt, but they still tore their way through it. We will probably get some 2x4 heavier gauge to wrap around the body.
Hello all, I'm in need of some advice. 2 days ago, some neighborhood dogs ripped a hole through our hardwire cloth and killed half our flock. It's been devastating, we have 4 younger hens we were just about to integrate. We obviously need to patch the hole, but now we don't feel secure with just...

I completely understand the feeling. Its honesty been very relieving in a way to know what the root cause is, I don't have to stress about whatever the next nebulous illness is that will take one of my girls. Currently we only have 2 unvaccinated left, and they are perfectly healthy atm, so...
We have some 2.5 mo pullets, and I've noticed some poop has some sticky red texture to it, and I'm wondering if it's coccidiosis. I've not seen any other symptoms, and they're all vaccinated against cocci/on unmedicated feed, but I know vaccines aren't fullproof. We have corrid that I am adding...
Thank you for this. I know they can survive, but it is a lot to deal with. Currently, no one else is sick, or at least no one is showing any symptoms. But if one of them does start showing and degrading, I will definitely want to do this. We have 2 hens just under a year that are vaccinated, as...
