    Chicken Breed Focus - Hedemora

    I was in Calgary in July, visiting my causin, brought four eggs home from this breed. I put them under my blue Wheaton Ameraucana and one hatched.. It's a rooster though.

    Can someone tell me about Silver Lakenvelder Hens?

    I have one lakenvelder hen and three other hens (Sicilian butter cup, Welsummer and Silver spangled hamburg.) my lakenvelder was flighty at first but now that she's a year old is my favorite hen. She is so friendly and a good mommy too!!!

    f mine just turned a year old and has already gone broody and hatched 10 chicks. I've read that they do not go broody.
