Two week? old rescued chick, what is it? Americauna? Welsummer?

So I hear a huge screaming match going on in the street out in front of my house and walk out on the porch to see a bunch of teenage girls fighting about some sort of Facebook drama. As the ruckus breaks up, a young woman walks over and says, "excuse me ma'am" She looked worried and I was...

    How old are they?

That's hilarious! I also have two hens Mary Ann (black australorp) and Ginger (rhode island red) and two Columbian Wyandotte chicks (Laverne and Shirley) who turn six weeks old tomorrow and have recently been moved outside (so glad to no longer have chickens in the dining room) ~L

    How old are they?

Hello, On Sept 3rd, I purchased two pullets (on a whim). I was told that they were "two or three months old" (reasonable answer from someone with that many chickens I am hoping that they will be ready to lay in December (I have started using a light on a timer in the coop in the mornings so...

    Sick Hen

~ She rallied late Friday night and Saturday morning. This afternoon it became apparent that Lovey was not going to make it after her brief rally Friday night/Saturday morning. She stopped eating and drinking (I got as much water down her as I could) and became unable to stand or sit upright...

    Sick Hen

~ Hello, I was hoping that my introductory post would be a bit happier than this, but right now I have a sick hen. She is a year and a half old Oppington Buff named "Lovey" (her flock mates are a Rhode Island Red named Ginger and a Black Australorp named Mary Ann) We've had some off and on...
