Hawaii Chicks, do you live on the Big Island? We do, and have chickens and turkeys. I saw your post about tapeworms and Wormal, and was wondering if you got it at O V Feed and Farm Supply in Hilo. We don't fight chickens either, but found the store personnel to be very helpful.

Turkey with strange posture and head ducking

Just went to check on her and she’s fine! Someone in the Gobble Talk Facebook forum said she was choking. That makes sense because they get crumbles and she eats really fast. I’ll keep an eye on her!

Turkey with strange posture and head ducking

I just treated with Corrid last week. That's what worries me. If she is not drinking the fresh water in the waterers, she didn't get a good enough dose. I still see signs of coccidia in the run. Drainage is a huge issue in the run as well, and I'm working on that. Thank you.

Turkey with strange posture and head ducking

My female Bourbon Red is not looking good. I lost two to this same thing last year. She stands very upright and bobs her head. Someone said it could be Coccidia. I treated the flock last week, but there's still signs of it in the run. We live in Hawaii, and it's very warm and wet here. If...

Thank you Miss Lydia! Clipping it is, then.

    Poop hanging from hen's behind?

My girls have finished molting and are now beautifully feathered, including their fluffy behinds. Unfortunately, on some of them, there are gobs of poop hanging off the soft feathers under their vents. Last year, I trimmed off the feathers under their vents if they had hanging poop. Does...

    Panacur in water??

MissChick@dee, yes, it cost a pretty penny. Since he is our only tom of that breed, I didn't want to lose him. I asked the vet about liquid Panacur, and he said it wasn't out there. Not true. The goat version is liquid. casportpony gave me an answer on dosage. She pretty much rocks :)

    Panacur in water??

Yes! They will eat mash. So I multiply the dosage for each chicken and turkey, then add it to the water used to make the mash. Yep, that will work. Thank you, Kathy!!!!

    Panacur in water??

1 ML for 3 days, then repeat in 3 weeks. He was only 12 lbs then. He had lost a lot of weight.

    Panacur in water??

Thank you, I'll give it a try.

    Panacur in water??

I have the liquid that is usually given to goats, and that is water soluble. Not sure what they weigh. Maybe around 20 lbs.

    Panacur in water??

I have 24 chickens and 8 turkeys. I took one of my turkeys to the vet because he wasn't eating. He was diagnosed with whipworms and was dosed with Panacur (Fenbendazole). The vet said I should treat the rest of the flock as well, but catching and medicating all of them is not possible. Can...

    Turkey male or female?

Sweet! Mine are about the same age. Are yours strutting yet?

    Turkey male or female?

I think ours were about 3 months old when they started showing caruncles, the red fleshy growths on the neck. Also, the toms will grow a 'beard' on the chest around that time. I have some 4 weeks old that are already starting to strut. They're darn cute.
