We have one Buff in the incubator that has a bloody swollen look around its vent area, none of the others look like this. Other than that the chick seems to be fine, it has only been hatched for about 12 hours now. Suggestions on anything we need to do with it anyone?
:)We have 2 Buff's, 2 blue laced, wyandotte, and 2 black sex links hatched and doing well, 2 more pips and 1 blue andalusian that didnt make it all the way out . Out of 14 eggs think thats pretty good for shipped eggs. would like to get that half hatched one out of the incubator but...
Could very well be, but 3 of them were free and incubated in my Daughters Biology class and the Wyandotte was only a two dollars and I picked it out. I only regret the outcome for my Daughter who is crazy about all of them, there is no way we can keep a Rooster cause we are not supposed...
Just by looking at photos of others saying their chicks are roosters I really think that some or all of our chicks are roosters, but they are now 8 weeks old and we have never heard any of them try to crow... shouldnt we have at least heard one of them give it a try by now? What do you think?
Hello Muddyhorse, we are located an hour south of STL. also! Just west of 67 Highway. We have 3 chicks that were hatched from a Biology class project and now hope to raise them, 2 appear to be Barred Rocks and the other is a red chick of some sort. Howdy Neighbor!
