    How long can eggs sit in the next box in this heat and still be safe to eat? I plan to be out of town and wondering- can I collect them all after a few days, or should I have someone come every day/every other day to collect? Is there a rule of thumb on this?

    I just moved by 5.5 weekers (red stars) outside this past week. I noticed while inside they hardly ever stayed under the heat even at night with the house in the low 60s. I started by bringing them outside in the run for several days and then started leaving them overnight when the night time...

    For good reason...a couple of weeks ago it got one of my sweet leghorns. I saw it flying away from her body. Yesterday I pulled in my driveway and it was perched high up in the tree across the street. It is still there today and now the girls are on lock down. Please tell me these hawks...

    I have used a rabbit type waterer from day one with my chicks. Works great, no mess!

    same! they really seemed flustered by the extra space :) I'm sure they will grow into it in no time.
