    Roosters (and sometimes other hens) will also cackle when a hen lays her egg. She may be dominat.

    Aww I hope your doe gets better. :'( Anyways, we have snow falling, rabbits in the mudroom, chickens cooped up with 'hurry it's cold' hay insolation. Found an egg buried in the hay while making insolation. Chickens have plenty of feed, and warm hay to lay in. Now if only the dumb rooster...
