Hatch #3: I have 10 Lavender Ameraucana eggs in the incubator that will Hatch Feb. 21st or Feb. 22nd.
I currently have 38 chicks in brooders right now. 24 of those will go to the growout pen March 14th at 6 weeks.

2/13/25: my 2nd hatch of the year was great! 14/15 eggs that were viable hatched. Egg number 16 either quit growing at the beginning or was not fertilized. My little chicks are adorable. However I may invest in a hatcher, because 15 eggs in a Nuture right 360 is just too many to hatch. 2 of the...
I had 14/15 chicks hatch. 12 of those 14 are perfectly healthy, but 2 of them got pushed around when they were trying to hatch and got stuck in the egg. So my husband helped them after +24 hours of them trying to hatch by themselves. So now I am up to 38 chicks sitting in brooders right now.
Hi, I had only 1 Maran eggs hatch. But I think it is female since there is no white circle on the head.
This is my 2nd lavender Ameraucana hatch of the year. But I hatched them last year too.
My 2nd batch is all lavender Ameraucana eggs.
So far we have had 7/9 chicks hatch. And this morning my husband told me to go get 10 more chicks from the feed store. Since 1/2 of the chicks we hatched will be males
The other breeds I bought are:
3 mottled javas
3 buff orpingtons
4 blue copper marans
3 days left for the polyester shoestring incubator. 9/10 eggs made it into lockdown. So we shall see. I am very excited for our first hatch of the season.
With the polyester shoe string I am having trouble keeping the humidity down. However with the cotton shoestring I am having trouble keeping the humidity up.
I am leaning towards getting the black Ameraucanas at Cackle Hatchery. I have had good experience with them with shipping. And it makes me feel better that they are NPIP certified.
