Hi,
Hopefully this "may" help.
I've been updating a thread with my Muscovy's growing process:

5 weeks to 10.5 week old picks. Sure she's female.
She's been...
10.5 week old photos
I haven't posted any photos in the last 2 weeks as she hasn't really changed physically.
She's a little bigger...around the size of my runner.
She trills constantly...more so when happy and does an amusing honk when startled.
I'm almost 100% sure she's female.
Her...
Over the last 2 years I can mimic both my pig, chickens and ducks noises.
Not 100% sure what they mean, but I have a fair idea...well I know "widdley-wee" is when the ducks are happy and found something tasty and a general "Wak" is a hello. When I do "PEEP PEEP PEEP" my new little duckling and...
During laying season don't breeders give ducks high protein diets...then during winter lower the protein in the feed?
I was under the impression high protein diet encouraged egg laying...or is this rubbish?

My duck did the honking noise for about a week before she started proper quacking...very amusing.
Since we had no other ducks at the time I put some duck videos on my computer to coax a quack out of her :o)

My Campbell had something a month or so ago, similar to what you've explain.
I thought she was really injured...but no visible signs of injury.
I brought her inside and gave her a nice hot bath. For two days she was pampered while sitting on the sofa and then she was back to her quacky self.
I...
Hmmm can't seem to edit my original posts with new pics...or edit the thread title.
She's now 8 weeks and 2 days old.
Still peeping like a duckling but for the last week she's being making a high pitched trill when she's happy to see you or knows she's going to get a treat or when she meets up...
My house pig cannot stand any form of water or mud! Runs away squealing with her tail between her legs :)
I refer to mine as pond-dogs.
I got into ducks 3 years back and now have 3, all hand reared.
Pros:
Trainable...slow but worth it...my campbell does proper dog like tricks.
Funny...
Hmmmm...similar to that, but a little higher pitched.
I was under the impression the voice changed much later on.
Maybe it's still duckling speak.
cheers,
Woka
Ok,
Just weighed my ducks.
White Campbell: 3.1 Kg (6.82 lb)
Runner: 2 Kg (4.4 lb)
Molly Muscovy (7.5 weeks old): 1.1 Kg (2.42 lb)
So I said well less than 30%...this proves that my hands should not be used in scientific studies as a measure of weight....although I wasn't far off...give or...
My duck is way, way, smaller than yours...either that...or you have hands the size of a cherry tomato (no offence meant).
When I went back to the farm last week they had 23 of her siblings...all aged 7-8 weeks.
The larger ducklings, with T-rex style ankles, has 0 wings feathers, let alone 0...
Do you happen to have some photos you can upload of them?
Would be interesting to compare similar agef ducklings...plus others on here will be able to have a go at figuring out their gender.
cheers,
Woka
