My neighbor’s dog is tearing my coop apart.

The dog has been here since before i moved in and I've had the chickens for a little more than a year and they are generally out in the yard during the day, we had never had a problem with it until someone dumped a bunch of dead chickens and guineas in a ditch not to far from where we live...

My neighbor’s dog is tearing my coop apart.

Thank you, I try to help them as much as i can, autism can be a challenge and the last thing they need is someone telling them that they need to turn their child's world upside down for a few chickens. I love my chickens, and i was upset, but that dog is very important to her and lets her...

My neighbor’s dog is tearing my coop apart.

yeah that's what i thought the answer would be. the funny think is, she never tries for my geese. i have 2 adult and 4 little yellow Chinese white geese that wander my yard and she doesn't even look at them. i've even found them in the kiddie pool together with gizmo. its just the chickens that...

My neighbor’s dog is tearing my coop apart.

It looks like I'm going to learn how to install an electric fence! I think i already know the answer but is there any way that my hens will ever be free range again or is the dog going to kill them for the rest of her life? my neighbors agree that an electric fence is the way to go. they...

My neighbor’s dog is tearing my coop apart.

Thats the one that she runs through. she runs as fast as she can out of range of the box. she doesn't care that it zaps her.

Some times my geese go around the chicken coop, will an electric fence hurt my Chinese white geese?

they are great people, they are trying everything they can to help me out but changing things around a child with Autism is tricky. Were are trying to work it out so that it impacts her as little as possible.

My neighbor’s dog is tearing my coop apart.

i"ve never done an electric fence before How do they work? is that something i can buy at a farming store? I will have to talk to them, i worry about their little girl coming over to my yard and getting zapped, but if we can be sure that she is not in any danger than i will give it a shot. she...

My neighbor’s dog is tearing my coop apart.

My neighbors are awesome people with a lab. We’ve been friends since I moved in but recently their dog broke into my coop and killed 4 of my chickens. Now it’s become an arms race between me and Gizmo. The first break in was just her digging under the coop. then I buried fencing and she ripped...

    new to chickens

I have been looking into owning chickens for about 2 years and now I finally get to build my coop. I have decided on a tall coop that I can easily walk in and clean up. The design that I have drawn out will be six feet tall eight feet long and 4 feet wide (it has to fit in the space between my...

Embden or white Chinese? Which breed should I get?

I have two white chinese and they are awesome Watch dogs. They usualy let the dogs know when someone is here. but they can be annoying because they try to talk to you the whole time your out side. Mine quiet down once we get out of site though. as for aggression, both both my geese are good. not...
