I love in a rural area in North-central Minnesota and I have a flock of 9 chickens and 2 ducks. I have loved raising poultry since I was young (about 7 years old). When I moved into my home, there were 2 barred rock hens and a Pekin duck left behind by the previous residents causing my poultry raising skills to kick into high gear.
I love the individual personalities of chickens and love that there are 2 in the flock that enjoy human interaction. I have hopes that someday my children will enjoy raising small flocks the same way I do and can start small farms of their own someday.

Why do you want to join our community?
I joined this community to get and give help to all the wonderful, crazy, chicken lovers, much like myself.
I often find mixed information or information based on one person's opinion when i do a regular search online. I strongly believe that a group of individuals giving information based on their experience is more helpful and can open a discussion on how to solve a problem. I love this site and use it every time I have a question about flock care or behavior.
